Will you play cheesy music?
It's up to you! 'Cheesy' means different things to different people, and big popular singalong bangers and 'guilty pleasures' do tend to go down well at wedding parties. But my number one priority is for you to have a great time on the dancefloor, so if that means no Abba or Robbie Williams or 'Uptown Funk', they won't be on the playlist!

Will you play requests?
I'm more than happy to consider requests, especially if you'd like your guests to have the opportunity to ask for songs. Depending on what it is, I may log it for later in the evening when it's going to be more appropriate - or if I genuinely think a certain request might kill the vibe, I may politely decline! But I will always try my best to work in requests if they're not going to bring things to a screeching halt.
Some clients like to get requests from guests ahead of time, which is a nice thing to include - in those cases I usually suggest gathering these in a dedicated playlist and setting aside a specific time to play them. That way, the tonal shifts don't matter so much!

What if I want something a bit different?
If you have a specific vision in mind, I'm happy to discuss how I can make that work for you. Most wedding discos tend to be full of floor fillers and classics from across the decades, but as an open format DJ I'm comfortable with lots of different styles, so if you want something heavier or more obscure or leftfield, that's definitely doable!
For example, here's a link to a mix of more global dancefloor sounds. And here's something a bit sillier and more hectic, the kind of mashup mix I would do at a festival.

Do you get on the mic when you DJ?
I can bring a microphone and I'm happy to make announcements when needed (e.g. time for the first dance, last orders at the bar, here's a special song for Auntie Mabel). If you have something more specific in mind, I'm happy to consider it!

What if the venue already has a sound system?
That's absolutely fine, I can just come and plug my equipment into whatever's there - so long as I have a bit of basic info about the tech in advance. Don't worry if you don't have that information though, you can just put me in touch with the venue directly so you don't have to worry about it!

What will you wear?
My default is smart casual - easier for travelling and setting up equipment - but I can go more formal if needed. Just let me know in advance.

Do you cater to neurodivergent guests?
Through my work with Disco Neurotico, I have plenty of experience of putting on neuro-inclusive dance events. This can be complicated, as neurodivergent folks are a broad church, with some loving a loud sound system and others hating it! I can assure you that the lighting I use is friendly and non-strobing, and I'm happy to discuss more accessibility provisions such as a silent disco setup.

How much setup time do you need?
It depends - if I'm just coming to play, not very long, though it's always useful to have a bit of time to get a sense of the venue. But if you are hiring my sound system and lighting, I will need a good couple of hours where I can access the space, bring everything in, set up and test. Different venues and itineraries mean different challenges, so it's good to chat through all these logistical elements in advance to minimise disruption for you - and make things easier for me!

Can I book you for a different event?
Absolutely! I don't just play weddings, I play festivals, local carnivals, birthday parties, club nights, even school discos. Just drop me a line and we can see if I'm a good fit for your event.
